FAQ

  • HOW DOES IT WORK FROM THE FIRST CONTACT TO THE APPOINTMENT WITH YOU?

Before you contact your desired artist, it's best to read our FAQs first. They provide you with a lot of information about your questions. You then contact your desired artist using his/her preferred contact method. This can be via DM on Instagram, via email or via their own contact form. We have linked the respective contact for each artist for you. You will receive a comprehensive answer to your request within 7-30 days, which will tell you whether your idea can be implemented as desired by the requested artist and what date he/she can offer you. Appointments are made exclusively by email or telephone. Simply follow the instructions of the respective artist. It is not possible to contact our studios directly. To make an appointment, some of our artists require a deposit which can be between EUR 50 and EUR 500, depending on the artist and the scope of your appointment. Each artist has their own terms and conditions. Your tattoo artist will then create a design for you at the appointment or with you on the day of the appointment. You have enough time on the day of the appointment to make changes to the design together if necessary. The size will also be adjusted together with you.

  • WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?

Please read carefully what conditions your artist sets. Each artist has their own terms and conditions, which you can find in your appointment confirmation. In most cases, the deposit is retained as a working fee even in the event of a cancellation. Some will refund you in the form of a voucher if you cancel on time.

  • WHICH ARTIST IS RIGHT FOR ME, WHO DOES WHAT?

Each of our artists has certain design preferences and a preferred style. Before submitting your enquiry, please study the artists' work intensively. Even if the artists' works look very similar at first glance, there are still very big differences. It is important that the artist you choose enjoys developing a motif for you. This will be the case if you have really dealt with the styles of our artists in advance. You can also contact several artists without obligation if you are not quite sure who suits your idea best.

  • HOW DO I BEST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT IF I TRAVEL TO MANCHESTER?

In this case too, the only way is direct contact with the artist. This can be via DM on Instagram, via email or via their own contact form.

  • WHAT ABOUT SPORT, HOLIDAYS, SUN AND SWIMMING IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE APPOINTMENT?

As you've probably already guessed, it's not advisable to exercise, sunbathe, or go swimming immediately after your appointment. The natural healing process of your tattoo usually takes 4-6 WEEKS. Even if the tattoo appears to have visually healed, the natural protective layer is usually only fully restored after about 3-4 weeks. After the appointment, we will therefore prescribe no exercise for 7-14 days and no direct sun, solarium, sauna or swimming for 3-4 weeks.

  • HOW DOES MY TATTOO COST?

Unfortunately, without detailed information, we can only answer this question with the answer: 'At least £50 for our trainees and at £70 for our residents'. These are the lowest starting prices in our studios. For some artists the starting price is much higher. Since we would also like to give you a more precise price quote, we also need precise information from you about your desired motif. So take enough time to describe your idea in detail. The more information and images you provide to your desired artist, the faster we can give you price information and offer a suitable appointment.

  • DO YOU DO COVER UPS?

Of course we would be happy to fulfill your wish. Since we usually work with very fine lines, it is unfortunately impossible for us to cover existing tattoos. With a style such as Old School, it is almost no problem to cover dark tattoos, as you can use different colors and color gradients to distract the focus from the old contour underneath. In many cases, a bigger tattoo is required to cover a smaller tattoo. We can recommend you an artist or style for your cover up.

  • HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE AT LEAST?

We only tattoo people who are at least 18 years old. Parental consent is also not accepted.

  • CAN YOU TATTOO OVER SCARS?

As a rule, you can tattoo over almost any scar. It is important that the scar has healed well and is no longer red. If you have severe burn scars, it makes sense to check in advance whether it is possible to tattoo them. in most cases an in-person consultation will be required, if you are located outside of Manchester tenth artist might ask you to send some pictures or a video to better understand the scarring or even do an online consultation.

  • DO YOU TATTOO YOUR FINGER?

We only do finger tattoos with reservations. It is important for you to know that a tattoo on your fingers will never be as beautifully fine and delicate as, for example, on your arm. They're great when they're fresh, but not quite as good when they've healed and you might need more than one touch up appointment. If you want a delicate, fine tattoo, other parts of your body are definitely a better choice, e.g. your wrist. Finger tattoos should only be carried out by professionals, as it is easy to get too deep. Some of our artists, such as Dax, Mia and Jared, Jacob dare to do this and are already very experienced in doing finger tattoos.

  • DO YOU DO WHITE TATTOOS?

White tattoos are popular. We generally distance ourselves from completely white tattoos, as they turn yellowish over time. Our skin is not transparent but rather yellowish and since the tattoo does not come on but under the skin, if you are someone who loves a good tan that can make the tattoo look even more yellow as the top layer of your skin tans.

if you use fake tan that can make the tattoo invisible to see as well.

  • CAN I BRING FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Of course, it's always nice to have someone to advise you in such an exciting situation. Please keep in mind that we only have a small waiting area and therefore only one person can come with you. Your companion is welcome to be there when the motif is placed and the print is placed. When the tattoo is being done, he/she must then sit in the waiting area for hygienic reasons and disrupting the concentration of our artists. We reserve the right to ask people outside if the studio is overcrowded. A quiet, harmonious environment is our top priority. Access to our studios is only permitted from the age of 18.

  • CAN I BRING MY BABY WITH ME TO THE APPOINTMENT?

we strictly prohibit access to anyone under the age of 18. If you have a baby we would kindly ask you to not bring your baby to the appointment as we would like your full attention for the tattoo to make sure our artist can give you the best experience.

The process of tattooing is considered abrasive and there might be blood borne pathogens which we decontaminate by using strong chemicals to make sure our studio hygiene is maintained to the best standard and these chemicals might be harmful for a new born.

  • CAN I GET A TATTOO IF I AM PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?

We cannot perform the procedure if you know you are pregnant or are pregnant as the chances of you getting any infection through the tattoo during the aftercare can risk the health of the baby.

If you are breastfeeding we would suggest you postpone the tattoo till you are not or substitute with formula to the duration of the tattoo healing process so any infection is not passed on by the mom to the baby.

  • WHY DOES MY TATTOO LOOK FADED OR HAVE SCABS DURING THE HEALING PHASE?

Your tattoo might look slightly faded or have a shiny layer as the top part of your skin might still be regenerating itself. it is quite normal for the skin to be flaky or even get some form of scabbing on your tattoo when you have a lot of work done like solid black infills or really heavy shading.

If your scabs are heavy or see any puss your tattoo might be infected and we would recommend you get in touch with your GP.

  • WILL I GET TO SEE MY DESIGN IN ADVANCE ?

All our artist have different styles and methods of working on a project. some might send you the design in advance for example if you choose one of their flash design or if its a custom design piece.

Other artists such as Dax do all their design on the day as they need the clients present to help them create the best design for them.

For designs that are photorealistic the artist may not send you the design in advance as the photo itself would be a design.
